Lurch Marley is an emcee originally from the Quad Cities, IL/IA, who is best known not only for his outspoken opinions but also his wide versatility on the mic, often switching from slow smooth flows to rapid fire delivery and touching on a little of everything in between. Once known as a thuggish trap rapper with a little bit of wickedness, he has developed into a legitimate hip hop emcee and is probably most known for his weed songs, love songs and outspoken Atheism as well as his ability to blend with other various genres of music. As the son of a country singer, Lurch was intrigued by music from a young age. He first began rapping in junior high, battling in written "keystyle" competitions on online message boards and chat rooms where he honed his lyricism and word play. Continuing to write as a side hobby for years, it wasn't until 2006 that he began to actually record and pursue his dream full time. He linked up with QC veteran Coqi Da Playboy and began work on his first release, the now classic Caketaker Mixtape. While in the process of recording his solo debut he linked up with the group QCK, Quad City Killaz, which he went on to release 2 mixtapes with before the group disbanded and went their separate ways. In December of 2008 Lurch was in a car accident which almost took his life, collapsing both lungs and shattering his femur along with multiple other injuries. While learning how to walk again seemed to most to be the most important form of rehab, Lurch was more concerned with rehabilitating his lungs and returning to booth n was quoted as saying "I can rap from a wheelchair and be happy but I'd rather die than walk in silence." And he returned with a vengeance, hitting the road that following summer touring the country and releasing several more mixtapes and continued on his grind releasing a total of 14 discs by the end of 2011. In 2012 he doubled that total by releasing 14 more within the 12 month period. Fresh into 2013 released a Best of 2012 collection and the long awaited mixtape The Quadfather. 2014 brought the Proof Of Evolution mixtape before taking time off for personal reasons. In 2016 Lurch moved to Nashville to record an official album and find musicians to take on the road for live shows. A year later the album is well under way with notable features and a beautiful blend of hip hop and country. Release date is set for Sept 17, 2017. This year is also the time of a long awaited return to the stage including the SlumLife festival in NC. Lurch is also working on a political rap/rock project set to be released in 2018.
